Abstract

This article seeks to help understand information statutes in the current historical period. Therefore, we analyzed global management consulting firms. In Brazil, it was in the seventies that the demand for organizations that prepared and disseminated strategic information was established. We sought to investigate the actions and the conformation of the KPMG network offices, a global company that has operated in Brazil since the first half of the twentieth century.  It originally provided audit services, and currently also provides consulting and taxes services. We also verified that there is a selective strategy established by the big companies in this sector. Finally, we analyzed the metropolis of São Paulo, home of the KPMG´s head office in Brazil, as the center of information in the country at the moment.
