The construction of the railway branch and the development in Santa Cruz, RS- 1905 to 1930

Abstract

The subject of this study are the construction of the railway branch  Couto- Santa Cruz and the capital concentration in Santa Cruz, RS, - 1905 to 1930. The railroad gave conditions to new forces of capitalist society to concentrate production, centralize capital and economically develop the microregion. Objectives of this study: to check how acted the Interventionist State, the monopolies and the domain that exerted on the transport of products, and the oligopolies that took the production and the commercialization; to verify the overcoming of the manufacturing period by the modern factory; to analyze the marks of the products, in his registry in Union Board of Trade. As methodological procedures were used authors who researched the municipality, the documents of the Board of Trade, recorded in the Diário Oficial da União – DOU.
