Abstract

This study analyzed common property regimes implemented by legislation that mandates the use of natural resources in the Amazonian, in areas of rural settlements and conservation units for sustainable use. The analysis was performed by the method Institutional Analysis and Development (IAD) Framework of Elinor Ostrom. The results allowed the absence of specifics of Amazonian territories in institutional policies with regard the use and division of property, which limits the maintenance and improvement of communal systems and indicate ways as well as governance involving government interests to the forms of ownership and use of inhabitants in these units.
