The objective of this study was to evaluate the role of morphometric (areal and linear) (qualitative method), associated parameters with the rainfall variables and sediment concentration (quantitative method), as a potential indicator of debris flow scale sub-basins in the Serra do Mar, on the north coast of São Paulo. The application of different scenarios of rainfall (mm/h) and solids concentration (30% and 50%) resulted in 60% increase in sediment volume as a function of intensity of precipitation increase. Concerning sediment concentration, the increase was 71%. It is believed that this work can assist in the planning of that sub-basins and serve as an indicator of possible mitigating actions, minimizing the damage that may occur on or near the areas inserted insides of such sites.
