Analysis of the International Airport Viracopos as regional development inductor

This paper analyze the Viracopos International Airport as inductor of regional development between 2010 and 2015. It was recovered the theoretical debate about the dynamics of the contemporary economy to understand the role of major airports such as the infrastructure of logistics integrated. The study reported investments of high value added and isolated actions of mayors in the region due to the proximity with Viracopos. The paper concludes that it is necessary to establish a systemic view of transportation as an economic activity that adds value to goods, a plan of Metropolitan Development to coordinate the flux of transportation and a politic airport management in Campinas to integrate the actions of the municipality to the enlargement process of Viracopos.
