As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

The texts can be qualified in Portuguese and English.

Articles submitted to IJKEM must have not been submitted to any other journal during the editorial process.

The average response time from acceptance to publication is approximately 120 days.

Quotes and references

  • It must be based on American Psychological Association (APA) standards. 
  • Authors must submit an article, essay or case study with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 15 pages.
  • For the submission process it is mandatory to use the journal template.
  • Files must be in Doc, Docx, Open Office or RTF format.

Evaluation Policy

Articles will be sumitted through the online system (OJS), not been accepted submissions by email.

Once they are received, they will initially be analyzed by the Editorial Committee, which will verify the relevance of the material in relation to the scope, format and stablished standards.

Once approved in the initial evaluation, the texts (not identified with authors' information) will be submitted to the evaluation of two external reviewers from the IJKEM's Editorial Board, linked to national or foreign institutions, and who have mastery of the contents dealt in the articles (blind and peer review).

The evaluations will take into account:

  1. Clarity of objectives;
  2. Methodology against the objectives;
  3. Theoritical consistency, objectives, methodology and results;
  4. Domain and timeliness of the bibliography;
  5. Use of references from national and international literature that analyze similar empirical cases and with a scientific impact factor;
  6. Writing quality (writing and text structure);
  7. Originality and relevance of the topic for publication.

After the evaluations, the articles can be: a) accepted in their current format; b) accepted with a small review (evaluation opinion); c) accepted with important modifications (evaluation opinion); d) Not accepted (evaluation opinion) or; e) It can be forwarded to another journal.

This journal, following the recommendations of the Open Access movement, provides its content in Full Open Access. Thus, the autjors retain all their rights allowing IJKEM to publish their artciles and make them available to the entire community. The journal uses the Creative Commons license.
