Abstract

Objective: Conduct a theoretical discussion about the culture of innovation, highlighting the role of the transformational leader in fostering and sustaining an innovative culture for organizations.


Design/Methodology/Approach: Theoretical review


Results: It is argued that the transformational leader plays an important role in fostering innovation, by building an environment conducive to innovation, through communication, a culture of trust and flexibility. Thus, it is concluded that the leader is the fundamental actor to disseminate and support the innovative organizational culture.


Originality/Value: Discussion and proposal of a theoretical model that integrates the culture of innovation and transformational leadership.
