Certificação e disciplina: a produção cotidiana da conformidade orgânica

Resumo

As certificac?o?es de agricultura orga?nica baseiam-se em procedimentos de auditoria de terceira-parte, governados por normas internacionais, avaliac?o?es te?cnicas objetivas e relato?rios escritos. Diante disso, uma diversidade de movimentos sociais, de organizac?o?es na?o governamentais e de associac?o?es de produtores tem coordenado procedimentos participativos para garantir a conformidade orga?nica em contestac?a?o a?s pra?ticas de auditoria. Com base em uma pesquisa etnogra?fica sobre certificac?a?o participativa, este artigo aborda questo?es relacionadas aos processos de avaliac?a?o de conformidade orga?nica e seus efeitos aos pequenos agricultores de uma associac?a?o no Estado de Sa?o Paulo. Por meio da descric?a?o e da ana?lise de uma auditoria testemunhada por fiscais do Estado, procuro apresentar como os procedimentos da certificac?a?o sa?o continuamente conformados na pra?tica e reatualizados pelos envolvidos. Embora as certificac?o?es participativas possam ser vistas como um projeto alternativo a?s poli?ticas das certificac?o?es de terceira-parte, elas podem produzir efeitos disciplinadores semelhantes a?s pra?ticas estatais e de burocracias organizacionais.

Felipe Puga, PPGAS-Unicamp

Mestrando do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Antropologia Social da Universidade Estadual de Campinas (PPGAS/Unicamp) e graduado em ciências sociais pela mesma universidade. Suas áreas de interesse se concentram nas discussões em torno de questões agroalimentares e dos estudos de ciência e da tecnologia.
