Abstract

This paper analyse the processes of cultural circulation. The motorbike boys of Buenos Aires were held as the analysis unit, having been put on stage by the mass culture devices in Argentina in December 2001. This step of the research has particularly focused on the media representations which put them on circulation, letting thus identify the cultural series to which they media linked their performance in the extraordinary events. The research intends to make a contribution for a more accurate comprehension of the social mechanisms through which particular practices are qualified; how and why they come in to extended circuits of representation; how and why they activate public recognition processes, and how these representations impact on the group identity elaboration.
