Abstract

This paper intends to discuss about the Encantados, non human beings that appear in the Tremembé indigenous people’s discourses, narratives and experiences, and the relations between them and the land. The text refers to Tremembé Almofala inhabits, in Itarema, a small city of Ceará, Norwest, Brazil. The fundamental point of this search is the existence of a necessary interconnection between those both terms: land and Encantados. This interconnection is present in the observation that the Encantados make part of what the Tremembé calls land. In this sense, I make a critical discussion about João Pacheco de Oliveira Filho notion of territorialization, with Deleuze and Guatarri concepts of territorialization, deterritorialization and reterritorialization, putting in evidence what I chose classificate here of land and your relation with Encantes and Encantados notions.
