Seropisitiv Activims: the HIV/Aids´s politizacion

Abstract

– One of the effects of aids epidemics was the passage of the biomedical discussion from the private sphere to the political one. The Aids/NGOs have big participation on articulation of this speech that links “soropositivite” to the notions of citizenship and activism. The arisen of Aids/NGOs was strongly marked by presence of gays’ leadership. But, later, it had incorporated other genders/sexual performances, with whom it shares this point of view, formulating normative behaviors relating to the disease. Therefore, at the same time a pattern of behavior is established, the affirmation of the own values of this groups is provided, making possible legitimating them. The activism provides the construction and articulation of identities, by means of subjective experience of the disease and its politicalization.
