Abstract

It is a critical essay on the notion of “computer-mediated communication”, written from an autoetnography of a personal experience. The description of the experience allows to put in the foreground a series of theoretical problems in the field of “cyberculture”. The reflection presented here aims to produce a problematization of the assumptions implicit in the notion of “computer-mediated communication” and to discuss the interactions between the computer, putting in perspective the notion of “social bond”. The essay is a dialogue with the key questions of studies of technique and ethnography in the field of “cyberculture”. The questions that emerge from this essay are those of sociotechnical agency, reorganization and hybridism in the universe of “human-computer” relationships.
