Abstract

The present experiment was realized for evaluating the rooting capacity of Tabebuia cassinoides (Lam.) DC. The basal and apical cutting of this especies were submitted to indolacetic acid with a concentration of 0, 50, 100, 200 and 400 ppm. It was shown that this auxin did not promote higher rooting percentage for basal cutting than the treatment of control. The average values of control treatment was in 38,3%. The higher rooting percentage was obtained by the basal cuting with diameter more tham 13 mm. Apical cuttings exhibited low rooting percentage (5%) wich was not indicated for planting. It was evidently that there is necessary more study with involving other sources of auxin, application forms, types of cutting, period of collection and planting.
