Marine benthic rhodophytes of Salvador oceanic fringe, Bahia State, Brazil. A qualitative survey of red algae was made as a contribution to the knowledge of the benthic marine algae of the Bahia State. Rhodomelaceae with 10 genera was the best represented family. The best represented was Amphiroa (Corallinaceae) with four species taxa. The largest number of taxa recorded was in spring (34) and winter (33) followed byautwnn (22) and summer (17). Only four taxa were all over the year.
