Diatoms in sediment of the Itacorubi Mangrove - Florianópolis, Santa Catarina State, Brazil

Abstract

It was colected 48 sample of sediment at ltacorubi Mangrove, Santa Catarina-Brazil, along 12 month (08/87-08/88) in 4 sections of colects with the purpose of realizing the taxonomic raise of diatoms. It was made a list of taxons determinated, containing, for each taxon lhe bibliography used to it determination, the range of measures and basic ecological data of bibliography used. It was identified 121 taxons distributed on 13 families and 41 genera. Families best represented were Naviculaceae and Nitzschiaceae although the genera best represented were Nitzcchia with 24 taxons and Navicula with 15 taxons. From the total number of taxons determinated, 29 are oligoalobous; 45 mesohalobous and 22 polihalobous, although the best of it or have ecology very less unknowed or represent a greater ecological width. Twelve species are new quotation for the Santa Catarina State. It was showed maps of localization of the ltacorubi Mangrove and boards with photomicrographys.
