Trichomes of the <I>Chenopodium retusum</I> Juss. ex Moq. (Chenopodiaceae)

Abstract

Chenopodium retusum Juss. ex Moq. is a perennial herb from the sandy shore vegetation in southern Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. Trichomes of the young stems and leaves, as well their modifications in these adult organs are described. These kinds of trichomes occurs: vesiculated secretory, capitated secretory and uniseriated pluricellular simple trichomes. Location, morphology and relationships to the salt environments are discussed.
