O nacionalismo hindu de Modi: autoritarismo e neoliberalismo na Índia

O objetivo deste texto é discutir a convergência entre autoritarismo e neoliberalismo no contexto indiano, onde o partido no poder desde 2014 avança numa agressiva agenda nacionalista hindu (Hindutva). Inicialmente, é analisada a colonização da esfera pública por este nacionalismo religioso. Em seguida, é abordada a aceleração desse processo desde o início do segundo mandato de Narendra Modi em 2019. A terceira seção discute as bases de classe da política Hindutva. É avançada a hipótese de que a aceleração dessa agenda coloca um dilema para a classe dominante, uma vez que a radicalização inerente à dinâmica do nacionalismo hindu, ameaça a estabilidade social e a economia do país. Comprometida com esta política em função de interesses de classe, a grande burguesia não tem um projeto alternativo no momento, e arrisca se tornar prisioneira da engrenagem que ajudou a colocar em marcha.
