This paper is a study about The Woman Who Wrote the Bible (2007) by the writer Moacyr Scliar. Our aim is to estabelish relations between the literary work and the Reception Theory searching to stand out the break in the horizon of expectation of the reader, as well as to observe him/her as the responsible for the filling down of the gaps or the empitnesses presented into text left by the author. Therefore, searching to contribute with literary analysis researches which turn to Aesthetics of Reception our reading has been developed from the textual-criticism method through a bibliographical research with an interpretive basis. To base our reflexions, we have supported in the studies amongst others by Wolfgang Iser (1979); Hans Robert Jauss (1994); Luiz Costa Lima (1979); Mirian Hisae Yaegashi Zaponne (2008; 2019); Regina Zilberman (2015). In the face of the reading about the novel, we have noticed that, as through the mobilization of the horizon of expectation much as through probable interpretations, the reader is estimulated to participate, in an efective way, in criation process of the work attributing it meaning; configurating in this way the dialogic relation between the literature and the reader, an ideia argued by Jauss.
