Literature and cinema enact in O jogo da vida

The paper presents interrelations between literary text and cinema, based on João Antônio’s short-story Malagueta, Perus and Bacanaço, and the filmic transmutation by Maurice Capovilla, entitled O jogo da vida. Secondarily, some intersection points between literary and film narrative are presented, aiming to verify similarities between them, such as: connection between the two; the exchange of experiences promoted between writer and director; the reconstruction of the literary plot into film; the transformation of the literary characters into the film ones.
