Opinião 1972-1973: the controlled limits of the opposition
Abstract
1972. Do acordo entre um jornalista e um empresário, e, ao mesmo tempo, de uma tensão entre jornalistas e intelectuais, O jornal Opinião nasce no apogeu da ditadura militar, no final do governo do general Emílio Garrastazu Médici, da iniciativa de um grupo de jornalistas profissionais, especialmente Raimundo Pereira2 que representava a ligação do jornal com a Ação Popular (AP), grupo de linha maoísta em Londres e então na ilegalidade; de Fernando Gasparian, industrial auto-exilado em Londres, articulador da chamada burguesia nacional, um grupo de empresários do setor têxtil, metalúrgico e mineral aliado ao governo Goulart e alijado do poder após 64; e de intelectuais consagrados como Antonio Candido, Antonio Callado, Fernando Henrique Cardoso, Francisco Weffort, Paul Singer, Darcy Ribeiro, Celso Furtado, [Otto Maria Carpeaux, Hélio Jaguaribe, Paulo Francis, Lauro de Oliveira Lima, Jean-Claude Bernadet, Millôr Fernandes e Oscar Niemeyer, muitos deles afastados das universidades pelo regime. É uma época em que florescem os jornais ditos alternativos, ou nanicos, que representam linhas políticas definidas ou alianças provisórias e instáveis. Pasquim, Movimento, Versus, Ex são alguns exemplos destes personagens que vão ocupar por um breve momento o espaço reduzido e concentrado dos jornais brasileiros.
