The literary controversy in the supplement Letras of Folha de São Paulo
Abstract
O volume de textos catalogados sob a rubrica “Debate” (cerca de 2%) publicados no suplemento Letras da Folha de S. Paulo durante os anos de 1989 e 1990 parece inexpressivo se comparado ao total de resenhas, ensaios e informes, os quais representam respectivamente, cerca de 46%, 14% e 12% dos textos publicados durante o período. A rubrica “Resenha” vem sem expressivas oscilações, desde a publicação do primeiro caderno de Letras, mantendo-se soberana, mesmo se comparada à sua concorrente mais próxima, “Ensaio”, tornando desta maneira patente o privilégio concedido pelo suplemento à divulgação do que é disponibilizado pelo mercado editorial nacional e, em alguns casos, pelo mercado norte-americano, pois a Folha possui os direitos de publicação no país de artigos oriundos do Book Review, suplemento literário do jornal The New York Times.
