Abstract

This text proposes to consider difference based on Jacques Derrida’s idea of radical hospitality. It focuses on the movement of repetition that produces difference (Deleuze; Derrida), as well as the “eternal return” of the different (Nietzsche) and the opportunity to seek the new from the past (Benjamin; Borges). It makes references to other authors whose theories were considered different: Marx, Jean-Luc Nancy, Levinas, Bataille, Blanchot. The article does not present a conceptual synthesis of these authors, but uses them as an invitation for the teacher/researcher to consider difference in school beyond considering formalities as an ethical position that inhabits the unknown and that celebrates the eventuality in becoming.
