This paper presents a reflection on the vocational reorientating work done by the Laboratory for Information and Vocational Guidance from the Federal University of Santa Catarina. The attendance of youth and adults groups who face the challenge of professional choice has led us to question the peculi- arities of each type of attendance. We are going to describe the similarities and differences between the groups composed by youth which seek profes- sional guidance with regard to their fi rst choice and groups which look for professional reorientation and are mainly made up by young and adults who are changing their ocupation or attempting to reaffirm their first choice. At the end, we present a brief report on a practical experience with groups of profes- sional reorientation.Downloads
