Abstract

The Factory Project consists of the planning of production systems ranging from the macro level, such as the location of the land, to the micro level, with the definition of the work cell space. It is a complex task that must consider different criteria, such as low cost, high productivity and high security. With Industry 4.0, several methodologies and tools were developed to contribute to the elaboration of a factory project, especially in the major manufacturers of the automotive sector, which have been converging with other technological fields, such as artificial intelligence. However, studies show that digitization and automation are not yet a reality for most Brazilian companies. This study aims to propose a factory design model that meets the perspectives of companies supplying the automotive sector, after analyzing the context of small and large companies in Brazil in relation to Industry 4.0. Using the Design Science Research (DSR) methodology, two systematic reviews of the literature were carried out and data collected through questionnaires, interviews and visits to companies that supply the automotive sector in Curitiba and region. As a result, a model was created that meets the needs of small and medium-sized companies, with steps and tools that can be adapted to different realities, enabling them to reduce waste, and increase productivity and competitiveness.
