THE IMPORTANCE OF ERGONOMICS IN IMPROVING WORKING CONDITIONS IN AN INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT PARTS STORE

This study aims to conduct a preliminary ergonomic assessment in compliance with Regulatory Standard 17 (NR-17), at a workstation in a store selling parts for industrial equipment, located in São Paulo. The qualitative and descriptive methodology considered the following steps: demand analysis, selection of the analysis situation, collection of information about the company, survey of population characteristics, analysis of the technical process and task, observations, pre-diagnosis, systematic observation with application of the Checklist for Simplified Assessment of the demands on the spine due to the efforts made at work and recommendations. The results indicated the need to implement improvement actions, considering the domains of Ergonomics defined by the International Ergonomics Association (IEA), such as Physical Ergonomics, Cognitive Ergonomics and Organizational Ergonomics. The recommendations aim to improve working conditions, contributing to a safer, healthier, more comfortable, and productive work environment, towards sustainable business, efficient, innovative, inclusive, responsible, resilient, ethical, competitive and long-lasting.
