Abstract
This study is about the occurrence of a specimen of the piranha Serrasalmus spilopleura (Characidae) of Sanchuri barrage (29º35'06"S e 56º50'54"W), West of Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil, with the pectoral fins amputated on the articulations and the presence of one ventral lesion near the cardiac region. The lesions were completly sutured and the stomach was full, indicating that this animal was able to live under these conditions. Biometric data and the stomach contents are also presented.Downloads
