Abstract
The experiment was conducted in order to increase the production of female flowers with the application of growth regulators. Ethephon at 200 mg.L-1 and NAA at 50 mg.L-1 were sprayed in two stages of plant development: 2nd and 4th true leaf. A randomized block design with 5 treatments in factorial arrangement 2x2+1 (control) and 3 blocks was applied. Ethephon and NAA increased the number of female flowers and decreased the number of male flowers, with the exception of NAA 50 mg.L-1 in the 4th true leaf. Plant growth regulators did not stimulate early female flowering, but they postponed male flowering. Beyond this, they increased the female/male ratio, but without significative differences.Downloads
