Abstract
This paper gives a brief view of world ecotourism, discussing its environmental, economic and social impacts which enter into conflict with its own conceptual basis aimed at sustainable development. It discusses the potential of ecotourism as a generator of revenue and economic growth, benefiting the communities surrounding the Natural Protected Areas and allied with conservation of natural resources, provided planning and management is consistent and ethical.Downloads
