This paper presents a detailed description of the Geophagus brasiliensis skull, calling special attention to the degree of specilization placing it between the Perciformes. A detailed description of the olfactory, orbital, optical and basal regions as well as infra-orbital bones, mandibular arch, palae arch, hyoid arch, opercular series and branchial arches is furnished.Downloads
