From March 1985 to February 1987, monthly sampling of plankton were obtained in four areas of the Marapendi lagoon, in order to study its ichthyoplankton constitution and seasonality. In this period, 2.378 eggs and 1.174 larvae of Brevootia pectinata, Anchoa januaria, Xenomelaniris brasiliensis, Achirus lineatus and five eggs of Triglidae were collected. Most egg collecting took place in Spring and Winter, whereas the larvae were mainly collected in Spring and Fall. In the 1985/1986 period, 973 eggs and 415 larvae were caught. The highest rate of egg capture occurred in Spring, Winter, Fall and Summer respectively, while the highest incidence of larve took place in the Fall, followed, in decreasing amounts, by Winter, Spring and Summer. In the 1986/1987 period, 1.405 eggs and 759 larvae were obtained. The eggs were collected, in decreasing amounts, during Spring, Summer, Winter and Fall, whereas for larvae collecting the observed decreasing order was Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.Downloads
