Micro phytoplankton samples were collected between June and October / 86, from the superficial layer of five stations situated in rivers of the Itacorubi mangrove –Santa catarina. Data were obtained on the qualitative compo sition of the more important taxonomical groups during tide variations. The influence of some environmental parameters on this composition was studied. We observed that the Chryaophyta group was the most represen tative in all stations. Neither water transparency nor temperature seemed to influence the variations in the qualitative composition of the micro phyto plankton. The micro phytoplankton community was likely related to the flow and reflow variation.
