Incident catch of 58 specimens of small cetaceans: Sotalia fluviatilis (n = 33), Pontoporia blainvili (n=20), Steno bredanensis (n=3), Delphis (n=1) and Stenella frontalis (n=1), on the Northern coast of Rio de Janeiro State is reported with emphasis on the characteristics of nets used, coast distance, depths distance, depths and capture areas.
