The economics of the dollar hegemony

Abstract

We argue in this article that the means that support the American hegemony in the current globalization process are due to the supremacy of its currency in the international monetary and financial relations, supremacy which is accepted as such due in part to the lack of an acceptable alternative, despite the economical frailty of the United States.
