Abstract

From the end of the 80´s and beginning of the 90´s, a profound change in the international economic-political context took place. Overall, a development that was remarkably symbolized by the fall of the Berlin Wall and the disruption of the socialist block in which immediate effects dramatically impacted the Cuban economy. Towards this scene, the objective of this paper is to evidence a range of financial and economical changes made by the Cuban Government through 1992 to 1999 in an effort to insert the Cuban economy into the financial capital’s internationalization and globalization process. So the independence and social progress through hardship imposed by the US embargo.
