The State of Santa Catarina presented an average valuation of land prices of 12.2% per year for the period 2002 to 2010. The main objective of this dissertation is to analyze the determinants of the price of agricultural land in the municipalities of the State of Santa Catarina for the Period from 2006 to 2011, as well as to verify the effects of spatiality on the behavior of the price of land in the state, through the formation of the asset price formulated by Keynes. For this purpose, a review of the literature of Brazilian writers regarding the price of agricultural land was carried out, so the price of land in Santa Catarina was analyzed, the agricultural variables and the exploratory analysis of spatial data. Spatial analysis justifies the use of spatial econometrics for works dealing with dependence in the neighborhood. Thus, by analyzing the univariate I of Moran, it is noted that for the years of 2006 and 2011, most of the variables presented significant I of Moran. In the global bivariate analysis, many variables presented a negative and significant signal, whereas they had to present a positive signal; Mainly, in 2011 this fact was more frequent; Being that only the variable ITR could present negative signal, but it had positive signal against the theory. Thus by the AEDE analysis, some variables studied may contradict the theory. These variables are: rural territorial tax, area harvested from maize, soil types. It is clear that other non-agricultural variables are necessary to explain the price of agricultural land in Santa Catarina.
