Falling behind, forging ahead e catching up: uma modelagem do gap tecnológico a partir da Teoria dos Regimes de Crescimento a luz da Teoria do Crescimento Unificado

Resumo

O objetivo deste artigo é construir um modelo econômico capaz de explicar a dinâmica de crescimento econômico no longo prazo confrontando hipóteses restritivas de múltiplos regimes de crescimento, a luz da teoria do crescimento unificado. Fatos históricos como o catching up dos Estados Unidos, Japão, Coreia e China desafiam a robustez dos equilíbrios múltiplos. Assim, baseado na limitação da hipótese de múltiplos equilíbrios para explicar o catching up, foi construído um modelo dinâmico cuja análise abrange o efeito da dotação de fatores econômicos sobre o gap de produtividade entre economias avançadas e atrasadas, e o efeito da difusão e choques tecnológicos na dinâmica Falling behind, Forging ahead e Catching up.
