Characteristics of the Innovative processes of the Industrial sector of the Brazil and southern region 2006-2014: analysis under the neoschumpeterian theoretical perspective

The objective of this work is to present characteristics of the innovative processes
undertaken by companies in the extractive and manufacturing industries of Brasil and the southern
states – Santa Catarina, Paraná e Rio Grande do Sul. It is used the data provided by the Research of
Technological Innovation (PINTEC) for the triennium of 2006-2008, 2009-2011 and2012-2014. The
mains results obtained were: acquisition of machines and equipment as predominant innovative
activity; reduced effort internal in research and development (R&D) activity; customers or consumers,
computerized networks and suppliers listed as the mains sources of information; customers or
consumers and supplies identified as relevant in cooperation activities; reduced interactive
relationships with universities and research institutes; and improvement in the quality of products and
maintenance of the company participation in the market listed as the mains benefits obtained by the
involvement in innovative activities.
