Plebiscite worth note! A pedagogical experience in classes of the 3rd grade of High School in Colégio Pedro II

Abstract

Working the theme "Politics and Power in Brazil" included in the curriculum of the 3rd year of high school of the Colégio Pedro II, we proposed to the groups who performed one referendum experience for all students of the campus. Ii would be proposed controversial issues as the legalization of marijuana, homosexual marriage, the regulation of the death penalty and the abortion question. The query, however, exceeded the shape of a referendum, becoming a survey research, especially guided by the concept of Political Education. The findings show that the activity is productive due to reflect on contemporary themes and to show, in an incipient way, the contradictions of social life - and, in our case, especially the young layer – oscillate between avant-garde and reactionary postures.
