Olavo de Carvalho and the cultural wars of the new right

Abstract

Alvaro Bianchi is a professor, coordinator of the Laboratory of Political Thought (Pepol/Unicamp) and currently director of the Institute of Philosophy in Human Sciences at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). An international reference on Antonio Gramsci, he was visiting researcher at the Fondazione Gramsci and is a member of the Coordinating Committee of the International Gramsci Society and of the editorial board of the International Gramsci Journal. From his vast curriculum, we highlight his link to Gramscian political thought because it is the bridge that connects his recent research on the new right wing, especially dedicated to the literary work of Olavo de Carvalho - themes that guided the interview he granted us for the dossier "New Right in Brazil: theoretical, intellectual and discursive matrixes".

Ivan Henrique de Mattos e Silva, Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP)

Bacharel em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), em 2010. Mestre em Ciência Política pela UFSCar, em 2013. Doutor em Ciência Política pela UFSCar, em 2018. Atualmente, é professor adjunto de Ciência Política nos cursos de Bacharelado em Ciências Sociais e Licenciatura em Sociologia e no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos de Fronteira (PPGEF) da Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP).

Josnei Di Carlo, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)

Bacharel e licenciado em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL), em 2006, com especialização em Ensino de Sociologia, em 2010, na mesma instituição de ensino superior. Mestre em Ciência Política pela Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), em 2013. Doutor em Sociologia Política pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), em 2018.
