Cooperación e inseguridad: La militarización de Okinawa bajo el pretexto de la seguridad internacional

Este artículo analiza cómo se produjo la militarización de Okinawa en el marco de la cooperación en materia de seguridad entre Estados Unidos y Japón. Mediante una perspectiva histórica, se demostrará que, antes de convertirse en un lugar estratégico para Estados Unidos en Asia, Okinawa fue colonizada por el Imperio japonés. Este proceso ha tenido efectos que persisten hasta la actualidad, siendo la militarización de la vida cotidiana la consecuencia más visible. Se analizará brevemente la relación entre Japón y Estados Unidos para comprender cómo se construyó Okinawa en relación con estos dos países. Finalmente, se analizarán acontecimientos más recientes para comprender el papel de Okinawa en esta alianza de seguridad. Por lo tanto, la investigación sigue una metodología cualitativa exploratoria, utilizando un enfoque historiográfico para comprender la realidad militarizada de Okinawa.
