Monique Sochaczewski Goldfeld's article "Why it is important to study history of Ottoman Empire?" is undoubtedly a valuable and pioneering contribution to the historiographical field, especially for its focus on the need to study it from a global perspective and situated in the Brazilian and even Latin American context. For this reason, the comments made are intended as a critical reflection that allows to expand and enrich the analysis proposed by the author.
