"The Poverty of Theory" - the debate on <i>History Workshop</i>
Abstract
O artigo discute os principais momentos de um painel organizado para debater "The Poverty of Theory", de E.P. Thompson, em Oxford (1979), do qual participaram Stuart Hall, Richard Johnson, e o próprio Thompson. A exposição divide-se em três partes: em primeiro lugar, situa os antecedentes que levaram à discussão do livro. Em segundo, acompanha os argumentos dos dois debatedores e pontua suas críticas em aspectos dentro e acerca do marxismo thompsoniano. Finalmente, expõe a resposta de Thompson, com a reafirmação da sua crítica ao althusserianismo e seu posicionamento contra a acusação de "culturalismo".Downloads
