Arno Preis’family’s fight for truth and reparation: contribution for the studies on the deceased and disappeared people of dictatorship

Abstract

This paper analyses Arno Preis’ family’s fight, left wing militant who died during military dictatorship in 1972, for historical truth and reparation. Buried as an indigent, his name was in the list of the deceased and disappeared people of dictatorship. Only two decades after his death, his body was identified and buried with dignity. The family continued his fight for re-establishing the truth on his death conditions and the rescue of his militancy significance which was translated into a request for the State responsibility and reparation.
