O IMPÉRIO AUSTRO-HÚNGARO: O ATOR DESCONHECIDO DA PRIMEIRA GUERRA MUNDIAL

Um dos atores fundamentais da política europeia nos séculos XVIII a XX foi o Império austríaco, transformado no Império Austro-Húngaro em 1867. Esse Estado é tradicionalmente ignorado, especialmente em livros publicados em língua portuguesa, enquanto participante do sistema europeu daquele período. Esse artigo procura avançar na direção da superação dessa lacuna, abordando a história desse Estado durante o longo século XIX e tentando destacar a sua importância enquanto participante do ciclo de decisões e interpretações que levaram à eclosão da Primeira Guerra Mundial e nas ações militares durante o conflito.
