Abstract

The article presents dimensions of Os parceiros do Rio Bonito, of Antonio Candido, pointing out its importance in the debates on the social formation of Brazil, in particular the historical place of the popular groups, in the set of discussions on the Brazilian modernization and the ideas of dualism and dialectic.
