O Brasil moderno de Joaquim Nabuco
Abstract
My objective in this article is underline the actuality of the quarrel opened for Joaquim Nabuco concerning modernity, progress, that he alluded mainly in moral terms, and of the citizenship in Brazil. His understanding of two types of people socially differentiated, in the slavery, as well as of the division of our society in an aristocratic class and another separated of the modern standards of citizenship, what reflect in the dissociation between the State and the nation, still are questions not decided in our national history.Downloads
