Abstract

the concern with a modern state formation has been remarkable in Paraná State in the years that follow the republican regime institution in Brazil in the latter of ninetheenth century. so, plans intending territorial integration and occupation grew in importance and they funded the belief in new coming times mile stoned by the signals of progress and civilization. In the current text we will analyze some of these territory control strategies, such as raods constructions, sttlements deployingand cartographic mappings aiming to discuss the inner land role in the development of the sense of being modern.
