Neo-fascism in Brazil, From The Local to The Global?
Abstract
The article discusses the case of neo-fascism in Brazil, analyzing its stages of development and the dialogues with similar movements and expressions in international neo-fascism. The central argument of the analysis is that neo-fascism, in Brazil, is a late and potentially peculiar phenomenon, and for these reasons, with particularities in perspective of interlocution with the global structures and expressions of neo-fascism. In that way, the article provides a discussion on the definition of neofascism as a category of analysis – and its distinction from historical fascism – from the global condition of these expressions.
