Beyond Sargento Poeta: on the links between biographical studies and literature

This article proposes to investigate the relationships between the life of a payador, its context and the history of the payada, which is developed in the novel Muerte y vida del Sergeant Poeta by the Uruguayan writer and journalist, Martín Bentancor, based on the proposed approaches. in The uses of the biography of the Italian historian Giovanni Levi.
