Abstract

The article aims to examine Isaiah Berlin's essay, “Two Concepts of Liberty”, which had a prominent role in propagating the distinction between negative and positive liberty, becoming a fundamental reference in the political debate about liberty at the end of the last century. It intends to investigate the origin of the established opposition, evaluate the possible objections, and discuss their implications in the contemporary political theory.
